Job summary

Bromsgrove District Council and Redditch Borough Council are seeking an experienced Building Surveyor in North Worcestershire. The role requires a minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience and involves extensive contract administration, tender documentation, and supervision of capital contracts for Council housing stock.

You will inspect void and tenanted properties, deliver customer-focused capital programmes, and engage with residents to provide support and interventions to ensure

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in a building/surveying environment.
• HNC or professional qualification in building construction related field.
• Experience of capital contracts and project management.
• Experience of planned programmes of work.
• Provide technical advice and guidance to staff and tenants.

Responsibilities

• Undertake feasibility studies and stock condition surveys, and prepare specifications and schedule of works for possible remedial works.
• Provide regular updates of expenditure on capital budgets and maintain financial/statistical records for all capital works.
• Assist in identifying properties/schemes requiring future planned maintenance and carry out stock condition surveys.
• Carry out pre- and post-inspections of void properties and prepare detailed schedules of works and obtain quotations.
