Job summary

Carrington West is seeking an experienced Diagnostics Surveyor to join a busy Local Authority in North London. You will inspect properties, diagnose defects, and plan remedial works as part of the Housing Repairs and Diagnostics team.

Key duties include damp and condensation inspections, preparing technical reports, and liaising with tenants and contractors to deliver repairs on time and to standard.

Qualifications

• Experience carrying out property surveys in housing stock.
• Strong knowledge of damp, mould and condensation.
• Ability to diagnose defects and specify remedial works.
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
• Capable of managing a busy caseload independently.

Responsibilities

• Carry out detailed property inspections to identify building defects, with a particular focus on damp, mould and condensation.
• Diagnose the root causes of defects and recommend appropriate remedial works.
• Prepare technical reports, including condensation assessments and submissions to the High Value Repair Panel.
• Manage repair cases, including fire, flood and insurance-related damage.
• Oversee works on site, monitor progress and ensure repairs meet required standards.
• Maintain accurate records, track project progress and elevate any issues where necessary.
• Liaise effectively with tenants, contractors, internal teams and other stakeholders.

Rate: £45.59 per hour (Umbrella, Inside IR35)

Contract: Initial 5 Months

Working Pattern: Office-Based with Site Visits

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Diagnostics Surveyor to join a busy Local Authority in North London, supporting their Housing Repairs and Diagnostics team. • Excellent communication, organisational and report-writing skills.
• Ability to manage a busy caseload independently and work effectively within a team.
