Construction is seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to manage domestic and commercial building claims from initial site assessment through to reinstatement completion.

You will validate claims, develop repair schedules, supervise contractors and ensure compliance with policy wording, health and safety, and company procedures.

A CIOB/RICS or equivalent qualification is preferred, with subsidence claims experience and strong report writing and stakeholder communication skills desired.

Qualifications

• Strong experience validating domestic and commercial building claims.
• Solid understanding of building pathology and damage assessment.
• Experience in project management and reinstatement work.

Responsabilités

• Conduct detailed site visits and assess building damage.
• Validate claims against policy coverage and determine liability.
• Communicate with policyholders regarding claim decisions and repair scopes.
• Prepare repair schedules and review variation requests.
• Interpret policy wordings and apply claims-handling guidelines.
• Manage claims through assessment, repair scheduling, fulfilment and final reporting.
• Manage contractors and ensure repairs meet specifications.
• Produce detailed client reports within agreed timescales.
• Provide technical support to claims handlers and wider teams.
• Attend complex claims, project visits and complaints as needed.
• Develop repair methodologies to minimise disruption and manage costs.
• Ensure Health & Safety and company procedures are followed.
