Job summary

Bennett & Game Recruitment Ltd. is seeking a Building Surveyor to undertake RICS Level 1–3 surveys across the West Midlands, inspecting properties, identifying defects and producing clear reports for clients.

You will manage your own diary in a client-facing role, travel across the region, and work within an experienced team while maintaining up-to-date technical knowledge and strong client relationships. MRICS or AssocRICS is essential; excellent report-writing and communication skills are

Qualifications

• MRICS or AssocRICS is essential.
• Proven experience within Building Surveying.
• Experience carrying out RICS Level 1, 2 and/or 3 surveys.
• Strong client-facing and relationship-building abilities.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out RICS Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 Building Surveys.
• Undertaking residential and commercial building inspections.
• Preparing detailed Building Survey and condition reports.
• Inspecting buildings and identifying defects and areas of concern.
• Providing clear, practical recommendations to clients.
• Producing reports in accordance with relevant RICS standards and templates.
• Undertaking condition surveys for property owners and housing associations.
• Liaising directly with clients before and after inspections.
• Managing your own diary, workload and reporting deadlines.
• Supporting colleagues and senior surveyors during periods of increased workload.
• Maintaining up-to-date technical knowledge and completing CPD.”

Building Surveyor Job Overview

As a Building Surveyor, you will undertake a varied portfolio of RICS Building Surveys and condition surveys across the West Midlands. You will be responsible for inspecting properties, identifying defects and producing clear, detailed reports that can be easily understood by clients. This is a client-facing role where you will manage your own workload and diary while working alongside an experienced team of surveyors. The role will include:

Building Surveyor Job Requirements

• MRICS or AssocRICS is essential
• Proven experience within Building Surveying
• Experience carrying out RICS Level 1, 2 and/or 3 surveys
• Strong technical surveying and report-writing skills
• Good understanding of building defects, construction methods and property condition
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong client-facing and relationship-building abilities
• Ability to manage your own workload and diary effectively
• West Midlands based with the ability to travel to properties across the region
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
