STR Group is currently seeking a skilled Building Surveyor to join our client’s Buildings and Places Team in Southampton. The role offers flexible and remote working options to support your lifestyle while delivering high-quality surveying services across Defence, Education and public sectors.

You will work with an established team, handle diverse projects up to £3 million, and help manage client relationships in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary setting.

• Proven background in building surveying with strong technical and legal knowledge.
• A B.Sc. (Hons) in Building Surveying or a similar RICS accredited degree.
• Sound technical surveying knowledge and significant building surveying experience.

About the Role

Your Role As a Building Surveyor, you will work alongside an established building surveying team based in Southampton, collaborating with colleagues as talented as you to drive innovation and excellence.

Handle engaging, varied projects across Defence, Blue Light, Education, Housing, Retail, Health, Energy, commercial property, and public sectors.

Managing scopes ranging from £10k up to £3 million.

Operating within a multi-disciplinary, collaborative environment, you will be pivotal in managing client relationships while proactively handling complex technical and legal issues.

Qualifications

Proven background in building surveying with strong technical and legal knowledge.

A B.Sc. (Hons) in Building Surveying or a similar RICS accredited degree.

Sound technical surveying knowledge and significant building surveying experience.

Required Skills

Experience managing clients with a strong understanding of profitability, business development and sound commercial awareness.

Sound knowledge drafting technical documents, including asset reviews, feasibility studies, specifications, and drawings.

Experience or capability in managing project values from minor works up to £3M.

Collaborative mindset with a strong ability to build and maintain client relationships.

Adaptable, driven, and keen to progress your career within a large multi-disciplinary consultancy.
