AtkinsRéalis in Southampton seeks a Building Surveyor to join our Buildings and Places team. You will work on Defence, Blue Light, Education and housing projects, across regional schemes, with project values from £10k to £3 million.

The role blends technical surveying duties with client liaison in a collaborative, hybrid working environment. You will apply JCT/NEC contracts, mentor junior staff, and support senior managers while helping to grow client relationships and profitably deliver

Formación

• B.Sc. (Hons) in Building Surveying or an equivalent RICS-accredited degree.
• Strong technical surveying knowledge with significant experience.
• Experience in client management, profitability, and business development.
• Ability to draft technical documents, asset reviews, specs and drawings.
• Solid Health and Safety knowledge and statutory compliance.
• Excellent time management and reliability.
• Enthusiastic about learning and supporting colleagues' development.
• Team-oriented with ability to build client relationships.

Your purpose will be to work alongside our existing building surveying team in Southampton, working on Defence, Blue Light, Education and housing projects. With project values ranging from £10k - £3million. Our work is varied and it is an exciting time to join a growing team.

Your role

• Working across several regional projects in different sectors, providing a range of building surveying duties.
• Using and applying standard forms of building contract, such as JCT and NEC.
• Understanding the principles of quality, safety and the environment in survey, design and management of projects and portfolios.
• Line management, mentoring and training Junior Building Surveying staff.
• Supporting the senior managers in their day-to-day activities.
• Carrying out surveys, inspections, schedules, provide professional services and managing regional schemes.

About you

• A B.Sc. (Hons) in Building Surveying or a similar RICS accredited degree.
• Sound technical surveying knowledge and significant building surveying experience.
• Experience managing clients with a strong understanding of profitability, business development and sound commercial awareness.
• Sound knowledge drafting technical documents, including asset reviews, feasibility studies, specifications, and drawings.
• A full understanding of Health and Safety requirements and Statutory Compliance.
• Excellent time management, punctuality, and commitment to getting the job done.
• Enthusiasm to seek new learning opportunities to keep skills and knowledge current, enjoy supporting colleagues with their development.
• Contribute to a positive, friendly environment, helping to build relationships across teams and with clients. You respect other points of view and seek out the best results in discussions.
