The Role of the Building Surveyor

The Building Surveyor will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the quality of land and property. This position involves providing expert advice and support, ensuring all properties are well-maintained and compliant with statutory requirements.

Other responsibilities include:

• Analyse building defects and prepare specifications for remedial works.

• Compile and issue detailed survey reports.

• Coordinate contractor tendering processes and administer construction contracts.

• Conduct site inspections to assess quality and workmanship.

• Ensure buildings comply with statutory requirements, including planning permissions and building regulations.

About You Building Surveyor

As a Building Surveyor, you will have a relevant degree or equivalent experience in the property profession, with a strong background in building condition surveys and working with historic and listed buildings.

Other requirements include:

• Extensive knowledge of building pathology and appropriate repair specifications.

• Understanding of health and safety legislation, including CDM and asbestos control.

• Proficiency in Building Regulations and their practical applications.

• Ability to access buildings via ladders or scaffolding.

• Full driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the local area.
