Gateley Smithers Purslow in Leeds is recruiting a full-time Building Surveyor to join our growing team. The role focuses on diverse projects across Yorkshire, including residential and commercial buildings, with strong client service expectations.

You will inspect, report and advise on design, construction, maintenance and refurbishment work, while supporting the Surveying team and ensuring compliance with health & safety and regulations.

Formación

• BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying is required.
• Experience in consulting engineering, surveying, architectural & planning practices and procedures.

Responsabilidades

• Inspect and advise on design, construction, maintenance, repair and refurbishment of all types of buildings and sites.
• Carry out inspections including acquisition surveys, condition reports, measured surveys and defect investigations.
• Prepare reports, schedules of work and works specifications.
• Design and oversee works using recognised building contracts and current technical standards.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety, party wall, building regulations and planning.

Gateley Smithers Purslow are looking to recruit afull-timeBuilding Surveyor to join our growing team in Leeds. The work will primarily be Yorkshire based plus local areas surrounding Leeds.

This is a busy and varied role providing support to the Surveying team on a wide range of projects, including insurance work, primarily residential and commercial buildings in all forms of construction.The Building Surveyor is expected to support their Line Manager andis responsible forhandling projects withinownlevel of authority and providing training and guidance to supporting team members.

You willbe responsible forthe following:

• Inspect and provide advice on the design, construction, maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of all types of buildings and sites.
• Inspections to involve acquisition surveys, condition reports, measuredsurveysand defect investigations
• To prepare reports, schedules of work and works specifications
• To design and oversee works usingrecognisedbuilding contracts and to current technical standards
• To understand and apply other relevant legislation such as health and safety, party wall, buildingregulationsand planning
• To help promote the company’s services and secure projects.
• At all times tocomply withthe requirements of the Company’s administrative, personnel procedures and Health & Safety regulations.

Candidates will be able to demonstrate the following attributes:

• BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying
• Experience and working knowledge of consulting engineering, surveying, architectural & planningpracticesand procedures supported by an awareness of the latest statutory requirements and technical publications.
• Experience in Defect Diagnosis and report writing
• Experience in working to deadlines and within budgets on large scale projects
• Experience and understanding of CDM Regs 2015, Party Wall and Building Regulation legislation
• Sound mathematical, scientific and IT skills and the ability to think methodically to problem solve.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Flexible and Variable Attitude to work type
