Job summary

PSR Solutions in the United Kingdom is recruiting an experienced Building Services Manager to lead the coordination, delivery and commissioning of M&E packages on projects in the Oxford area.

You will manage pre-construction to handover, coordinate design, procurement and installation, and oversee subcontractors while maintaining programme, budget and safety standards.

This role requires main contractor experience, strong leadership and excellent stakeholder management.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services.

Responsibilities

• Manage building services delivery from pre-construction through to completion.
• Coordinate M&E design, procurement, installation and commissioning.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Design Managers, Quantity Surveyors and subcontractors.
• Manage specialist M&E subcontractors and supply chain partners.
• Review designs, specifications and technical submissions.
• Ensure building services works are delivered to programme, budget and required quality standards.
• Identify and resolve technical issues throughout the project.
• Attend design and coordination meetings and drive actions through to completion.
• Monitor progress and reporting on programme, cost, quality and risk.
• Support the commercial team with variations, valuations and financial reporting.
• Ensure all works comply with health & safety requirements and project standards.
• Managing commissioning, testing and handover activities.
• Maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and the wider project team.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Building Services Manager (BSM) to join a leading construction contractor, working across projects in the Oxford area.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Building Services professional looking to join an established contractor with a strong project portfolio and a variety of technically challenging schemes.

The Role

As Building Services Manager, you will take responsibility for the successful coordination and delivery of M&E / building services packages throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing the building services delivery from pre–construction through to completion.
• Coordinating M&E design, procurement, installation and commissioning.
• Working closely with Project Managers, Design Managers, Quantity Surveyors and subcontractors.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Building Services Manager with a strong background working for a main contractor or specialist contractor.

You will ideally have experience delivering complex construction projects and be confident managing both the technical and operational aspects of building services delivery.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Proven experience as a Building Services Manager / M&E Manager.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services.
• Main contracting experience.
• Experience managing M&E subcontractors and specialist supply chains.
• Strong understanding of design coordination, installation, commissioning and handover.
• Good commercial and programme awareness.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to work independently and take ownership of building services delivery.

Security Clearance

Experience working on MOD / defence projects would be advantageous. Candidates who currently hold, or have previously held, relevant security clearance are encouraged to highlight this when applying.

Location & Package

The role will primarily cover projects in the Oxford area, so candidates should be comfortable travelling to sites within these locations.
