Job summary

PSR Solutions is seeking an experienced Building Services Manager to lead M&E coordination across projects in the Reading and Oxford area. You will manage building services delivery from pre-construction through to handover, coordinating design, procurement, installation and commissioning with project teams.

The ideal candidate will have main contracting experience, strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical services, and a proven track record delivering complex schemes.

Responsibilities

• Managing the building services delivery from pre-construction through to completion.

• Managing specialist M&E subcontractors and supply chain partners.
• Reviewing designs, specifications and technical submissions.

• Identifying and resolving technical issues throughout the project.
• Attending design and coordination meetings and driving actions through to completion.
• Monitoring progress and reporting on programme, cost, quality and risk.
• Supporting the commercial team with variations, valuations and financial reporting.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Building Services Manager (BSM) to join a leading construction contractor, working across projects in the Reading and Oxford areas.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Building Services professional looking to join an established contractor with a strong project portfolio and a variety of technically challenging schemes.

The Role

As Building Services Manager, you will take responsibility for the successful coordination and delivery of M&E / building services packages throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing the building services delivery from pre-construction through to completion.
• Coordinating M&E design, procurement, installation and commissioning.
• Working closely with Project Managers, Design Managers, Quantity Surveyors and subcontractors.
• Managing specialist M&E subcontractors and supply chain partners.
• Reviewing designs, specifications and technical submissions.
• Ensuring building services works are delivered to programme, budget and required quality standards.
• Identifying and resolving technical issues throughout the project.
• Attending design and coordination meetings and driving actions through to completion.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Building Services Manager with a strong background working for a main contractor or specialist contractor.

You will ideally have experience delivering complex construction projects and be confident managing both the technical and operational aspects of building services delivery.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Proven experience as a Building Services Manager / M&E Manager.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services.
• Main contracting experience.
• Experience managing M&E subcontractors and specialist supply chains.
• Strong understanding of design coordination, installation, commissioning and handover.
• Good commercial and programme awareness.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to work independently and take ownership of building services delivery.

Security Clearance

Experience working on MOD / defence projects would be advantageous. Candidates who currently hold, or have previously held, relevant security clearance are encouraged to highlight this when applying.

Location & Package

The role will primarily cover projects in the Reading area, so candidates should be comfortable travelling to sites within these locations.
