Job summary

Fawkes & Reece London is seeking an experienced MEP Lead to coordinate and deliver mechanical, electrical and public health services on a major project in Hertfordshire. You will lead MEP subcontractors, manage design interfaces and align works with the overall construction programme.

The role requires strong technical coordination, a proactive communication style and a track record of delivering complex building services on Tier One projects. CSCS/SMSTS are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as MEP Lead or similar on major projects.
• Strong experience delivering MEP packages on major construction projects.
• Ability to interpret mechanical, electrical and public health drawings.
• Experience managing MEP subcontractors and interfaces.
• CSCS and SMSTS certification would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery and coordination of mechanical, electrical and public health services across the project.
• Manage and coordinate MEP subcontractors and specialist contractors.
• Review and coordinate MEP design information, drawings, specifications and technical submissions.
• Ensure MEP works are fully coordinated with the wider construction programme and other trades.
• Lead technical coordination meetings and manage MEP interfaces.
• Review and respond to RFIs, technical queries and design development requirements.
• Monitor progress, quality and compliance of MEP installation works.
• Review subcontractor RAMS, inspection and test plans and quality documentation.
• Work closely with design, commercial, procurement and construction teams.
• Identify and resolve technical issues, clashes and interface requirements.
• Monitor MEP programme performance and support recovery measures where required.
• Support testing, commissioning and final handover of building services systems.
• Ensure MEP works are delivered in accordance with health & safety, quality and environmental requirements.
• Provide regular updates on MEP progress, risks, issues and key deliverables.

• Strong understanding of MEP design coordination and installation.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and design information.
• Experience managing technical interfaces across a complex construction environment.
• Strong programme, coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Relevant building services or engineering qualification is advantageous.
• CSCS and SMSTS certification would be beneficial.
