Building Service Engineer (Electrical)

Salary - £42,708 - £47,754 (Grade 7)

Hours - 37 hours per week

Contract type - full time, permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Building Services Engineer (Electrical) to join and support the Projects and Works team in delivering capital projects under the City Assets Directorate within the City of Wolverhampton Council. The role involves providing electrical engineering services for both new build and refurbishment projects within the council's portfolio.

The post holder will be responsible for:

1. Liaising with clients to ensure satisfaction with electrical service delivery and promoting sustainable development principles.
2. Providing professional electrical services for new buildings, maintenance, and refurbishment schemes.
3. Undertaking duties across all aspects of electrical building service design, from developing concepts to detailed design solutions for various building types.
4. Contributing to the decarbonisation of the built environment.

Key requirements

• Degree or equivalent in Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering (CIBSE or ACE accredited), or relevant experience demonstrating engineering ability.
• Extensive experience as an Electrical Building Services Engineer within a multidisciplinary team.
• Proven track record managing building services projects from feasibility to completion.
• Proficiency with electrical software such as Hevacomp and Amtech.
• Competent in AutoCAD or similar and aware of BIM processes.
• Proven experience in building services design.
