Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a growing building services team. You will lead mechanical design across diverse sectors, mentor junior engineers, deliver high-quality drawings and documentation, and support client relationships in a collaborative engineering environment.

The role focuses on sustainable, low-carbon design within a consultancy, requiring strong knowledge of HVAC systems, design software and relevant standards.

Qualifications

• Requires a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3–4 years' post-qualification experience in building services design.
• Strong experience delivering mechanical design solutions within a consultancy environment.
• Knowledge of British Standards, Building Regulations and industry guidance.
• Experience with design software such as Revit, Relux/Dialux, Amtech or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical engineering design delivery on selected projects.
• Collaborate within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Manage mechanical design elements from concept through to completion.
• Produce technical drawings, specifications and design documentation.
• Carry out engineering calculations and support technical reviews.
• Attend client meetings and contribute to presentations.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers.
• Maintain and improve technical standards within the engineering team.
• Contribute to innovative, sustainable and low-carbon engineering solutions.
