Role Overview:

Thirteen Group is on the lookout for a Building Safety Advisor to join our Building Safety Team at Hudson Quay, Middlesbrough. You will take a lead role in ensuring we comply with requirements of the Building Safety Act and associated Regulations and support with developing our building safety cases on our high risk buildings.

This is a roam role, so you’ll work mainly from home and at least one day a week from our fantastic office at Hudson Quay in Middlesbrough. We’ll need you to be flexible around business and team need, so you may need to come into the office more frequently when required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will work closely with internal colleagues to develop and enhance our building safety case process for high risk buildings including ongoing monitoring and updating of system records.
  • You will take the lead in developing the fire an emergency fire files for major works within the groups complex building portfolio and monitor progress of works to ensure they are compliant.
  • You will lead on developing and implementing a programme of quality compliance assurance testing on various aspects of the groups fire safety management inspection and assessment processes and provide detailed reports.
  • You will support the Building Safety team in compiling and submitting documentation as required by the Building Safety Regulator and statutory bodies.
  • You will take the lead role on maintaining the competency framework for the Building Safety team

About You:

  • You will have a comprehensive knowledge of the Building Safety Act and all relevant regulations associated with building safety including interpretation of Building Regulations, guidance documents and approved codes of practice.
  • Knowledge and understanding within a variety of buildings such as high risk, complex, commercial and sheltered ideally within a social housing environment on all aspects of fire safety and building safety
  • Professionally qualified in fire safety/building safety related discipline and membership of a relevant professional body such as the Institute of Fire Engineers
  • You need to be comfortable and willing to travel across multiple geographical locations and will need a full UK driving license with access to your own vehicle
