Job summary

Stantec in the United Kingdom is seeking a Building Physics Engineer to strengthening our national capability. The role involves building performance and energy modelling across the UK, with weekly travel to the Plymouth area and engagement with senior leadership to enhance our services.

You will work within multi-disciplinary teams to optimise building performance, deliver practical low-carbon design solutions, and contribute to early-stage design decisions.

Qualifications

• Experience in building physics and energy modelling within a consultancy.
• Proficient with IES-VE including simulation, calibration & QA.
• Strong understanding of passive design and low-carbon buildings.
• Ability to deliver multi-disciplinary projects and present findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to building physics workstreams across projects (thermal, energy, daylight, overheating, ventilation).
• Develop and optimise energy strategies and low-carbon design solutions.
• Assess façade performance and building fabric compliance with UK regulations (Part L, TM52/TM59, EPC).
• Produce technical reports and communicate findings to internal teams and clients.
• Collaborate with MEP, architecture, sustainability and digital engineering teams.
