Job summary

The University of St Andrews, a renowned Scottish university, is seeking an experienced Building Management Systems (BMS) Operations Engineer to lead the day-to-day operation of the Siemens Desigo CC system across the estate.

You will analyse system data, perform fault finding, implement software modifications, and drive performance improvements to enhance energy efficiency, resilience and comfort throughout the campus.

Are you an experienced Building Management System engineer lookingfor a varied role where you can make a real impact across a diverse and complexestate?

We are seeking a Building Management Systems (BMS) Operations Engineerto join the Estates BMS Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a keyrole in the operation, optimisation and continual improvement of theUniversity's Siemens Desigo CC Building Management System.

Working as part of the BMS team, you will play a pivotal role to ensurethe University's BMS operates reliably, efficiently and effectively. The rolecombines fault finding, software modifications, system optimisation,performance monitoring and hands-on engineering activities, providing theopportunity to make a real impact on building performance, energy efficiencyand operational resilience across the estate.

The University of St Andrews has a diverse estate of almost 100connected buildings with over 40,000 monitoring points, from historic listedproperties that are hundreds of years old to state-of-the-art teaching,research and residential facilities. The BMS plays a vital role in maintainingcomfortable, safe and energy efficient environments throughout the estate.

The role is responsible for the day-to-day operational performance ofBuilding Management Systems across the University estate, ensuring faults,maintenance activities and operational issues are identified, prioritised andprogressed through to resolution. You will use system data, trends andoperational insight to improve performance, reduce reactive maintenance andsupport the University's sustainability and Net Zero ambitions.

We are looking for someone with extensive practical experienceconfiguring, commissioning, modifying, fault finding and optimising BuildingManagement Systems, together with a strong understanding of HVAC systems,control theory and building services engineering. Experience with Siemenssystems would be advantageous, although applicants with experience in other BMSplatforms who can quickly develop competence within the University's Siemensenvironment are encouraged to apply.
