About the Role

Our client is seeking a versatile and reliable Building Maintenance Technician to join their facilities management team in Randburg, Gauteng . You will be responsible for a broad range of maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical repairs, carpentry, painting, and general upkeep. Key Responsibilities

Perform general repairs and maintenance tasks across various building systems, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC. Conduct routine inspections to identify and address maintenance needs and potential hazards. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency calls, ensuring timely resolution. Perform minor electrical work, such as replacing light fixtures, switches, and outlets. Carry out plumbing repairs, including fixing leaks, clearing blockages, and maintaining fixtures. Undertake carpentry tasks such as repairing doors, windows, and furniture. Perform painting and minor structural repairs as required. Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the building's common areas and maintenance facilities. Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations and company standards. Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and tools, and report needs for replenishment. Assist in coordinating with external contractors for specialized repair work.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Building Maintenance Technician or in a similar trade role. Proficiency in a range of maintenance skills, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repairs. Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot common building system issues. Familiarity with building codes and safety regulations. Good understanding of maintenance tools and equipment. Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Good physical condition and ability to perform manual labor, including working at heights or in confined spaces. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Valid driver's license. High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training is a plus.
