About the Role - The post holder will handle a range of building control, planning, and housing adaptation duties. Responsible for managing multiple projects daily, ensuring compliance with building regulations and standards during construction or conversion projects.
Responsibilities
- Support and mentor less experienced technical staff to maintain high standards and service levels in RBCA activities.
- Assist in the introduction and delivery of new products and services.
- Assess applications and attend meetings, training, and seminars as required.
- Represent the company professionally and advocate for Assent.
- Manage a portfolio of projects within a specific geographical area.
- Provide technical support and guidance to clients and team members.
- Manage inspection schedules efficiently and maintain accurate records.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders to promote business growth.
Qualifications
- Attention to detail and process-oriented mindset.
- Ability to make pragmatic decisions ensuring safety and compliance.
- Ability to work independently and remotely following established policies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commercial awareness.
- Chartered or working towards full membership of the Chartered Institute of Building Engineers or RICS.
- Hold and maintain a valid Technical Class 2F Registered Building Inspector (RBI) status.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, technical guidance, and The Building Safety Act (2022).
- Understanding of fire safety, health and safety, and construction design processes, including RIBA stages.
- Adherence to professional conduct and competency frameworks.
- Knowledge of customer care principles and equal opportunities.
- Experience in ensuring compliance with Building Regulations across various building types.
- Effective self-management of site inspections and reporting.
- Ability to assess safety, risks, and enforce regulations.
- Valid UK driving license.
