Job summary

The Go-Between is recruiting a Class 2A Registered Building Inspector to oversee residential developments in Leicester. The site-based role offers a balanced workload with experienced developers and contractors from foundation to completion, with flexible hours and a competitive package.

You will check plans for compliance, inspect works, issue certificates, mentor trainee surveyors, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Registered Building Inspector - Class 2A (or in registration)
• Site-based construction experience from foundation to completion
• Understanding of structural warranty standards - desirable
• Knowledge of Building Regulations and related legislation

Responsibilities

• Check plans for compliance with building regulations and warranty criteria
• Undertake inspection of works and produce detailed records
• Issue initial notices, plan certificates, amendment notices and final certificates
• Ensure inspections have been completed with correct certification and defects addressed
• Operate in accordance with QMS procedures
• Mentor and support trainee surveyors
• Act as technical liaison internally and externally

An established RBCA and Structural Warranty Provider are recruiting for a Class 2A Registered Building Inspector to oversee residential developments in Leicester. The site-based role involves a balanced workload featuring a variety of experienced developers and contractors from foundation to completion, with flexible working hours. Basic salary circa £50,000 - £55,000 plus competitive bonus, company car, extended annual leave, with opportunities for career progression.

Responsibilities

• Check plans for compliance with building regulations, structural warranty criteria, and associated guidance
• Undertake inspection of works and produce detailed inspection records
• Issue initial notices, plan certificates, amendment notices and final certificates
• Ensure inspections have been conducted with appropriate certification submitted, and that defects/non-conformities have been addressed prior to issuing final certificate
• Operate in accordance with QMS procedures
• Provide mentoring and support for trainee surveyors
• Act as technical liaison internally and externally

Building Inspector

Requirements

• Registered Building Inspector - Class 2 A, B or D (or otherwise undergoing the registration process)
• Site-based experience of construction from foundation to completion
• Understanding of structural warranty standards- desirable
• Knowledge of Building Regulations, and related legislation, standards, and environmental concerns
• Excellent relationship management skills
• Problem-solving capability
• IT literate
