Job summary

Mace is seeking a building coordinator to join the joint design office on the Hinkley Point C programme. You will align design and construction activities across multiple packages and act as the link between EDF's NNB team and major contractors.

Report to the JDO area lead and nuclear island engineering manager, you will coordinate engineers, monitor performance, manage design changes, and support readiness reviews to keep the project on track. Hybrid working options available.

Qualifications

• A proactive mindset and ability to work independently with good planning under broad supervision.
• Background in engineering (mechanical, electrical or civil) with design, drafting or construction experience.
• Confident in handling complex technical issues and collaboration across teams to find practical solutions.
• Solid understanding of NEC contract management, CDM regulations, and record-keeping systems.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills to drive improvements and progress.
• A degree or equivalent engineering experience with a pragmatic approach to risk management and delivering results.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating engineers across multiple disciplines to ensure timely delivery of design packages.
• Monitoring performance using key metrics and maintaining high technical standards across deliverables.
• Managing design changes and resolving technical issues in alignment with design and construction teams.
• Playing a key role in readiness reviews and helping unblock multidisciplinary challenges that could impact progress.
• Reporting to the JDO area lead and the nuclear island engineering manager, maintaining clear communications, managing risks, and balancing workloads to keep the project on track.
