The Building Control Surveyor's Role

As the Building Control Surveyor, you will head up the newly formed BSA Principal Design team, overseeing high-profile projects and ensuring that all designs comply with the latest safety regulations. This role involves managing a team of specialists and providing strategic advice to clients on meeting their obligations under the Building Safety Act.

The successful Building Control Surveyor will

• Lead and manage the BSA Principal Design team, ensuring compliance with Building Safety Act regulations.
• Oversee the delivery of Principal Design services, ensuring all designs meet safety standards and risk management procedures.
• Act as the main point of contact for clients, providing expert guidance on design and regulatory matters.
• Liaise with project teams to ensure effective communication and implementation of safety measures.
• Develop internal policies and procedures aligned with BSA requirements.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and according to statutory requirements.

To be successful in this role, you will need

• A qualification in Building Control, Architecture, or a related discipline.
• Extensive experience in Building Control or Principal Design roles.
• Strong knowledge of the Building Safety Act and its implications.
• Experience leading teams and managing complex projects.
• A background in risk management and compliance within the built environment.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
