Job summary

Optiver is seeking a strong software engineer to improve developer productivity by shaping the Build Platform and DevEx at scale. You will join a growing global Developer Experience team and help engineers move ideas to production-ready software with greater speed and confidence.

You’ll design and roll out modern build systems, develop build libraries and CI/CD pipelines, and implement observability to measure performance, reliability and adoption.

Qualifications

• Strong background in C++ build systems and developer tooling.
• Experience designing, adopting, or operating modern build ecosystems.
• Deep understanding of incremental builds, caching, and dependency graphs.
• Ability to diagnose performance and reliability issues using data.
• Experience with CI/CD platforms and scalable pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Shape the future of C++ builds by designing modern build systems.
• Develop common build libraries, reusable CI/CD pipelines, and container images.
• Build observability into the platform to measure performance and adoption.
• Improve build performance at scale via incremental execution and caching.
• Design workflows for agents to compile, test, and diagnose failures reliably.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to reduce friction and scale solutions.
• Help teams adopt new tools and manage standardisation across codebases.
