Solihull College & University Centre is seeking a BSL Interpreter qualified to a minimum of Level 3 to join our team based at Blossomfield Campus, with potential work across other college sites. You will provide communication support by interpreting spoken English into British Sign Language and BSL into spoken English, enabling Deaf students to access learning and participate fully in college life.

Qualifications

• Qualified as a BSL interpreter to minimum Level 3.
• Experience supporting Deaf or Hearing-Impaired students in education.
• Willingness to work across multiple college campuses as required.

Responsabilités

• Provide sign language interpretation between spoken English and BSL for lessons and activities.
• Support Deaf students to access learning and participate in college life.
• Occasional travel between Blossomfield and other college campuses; attend tests as needed.

37 hours per week, 38 weeks term time

We are seeking a BSL Interpreter qualified to a minimum of BSL Level 3 to join our team based at Solihull College & University Centre. Providing support to Deaf students on different courses across the College, you will provide communication support through interpreting spoken English into British Sign Language (BSL) and BSL into spoken English. You will play a key role in enabling students to access learning and fully participate in college life. The successful candidate will be empathetic, innovative, organised and dependable, with excellent communication skills, and will support students in and outside of the classroom.

It is essential you have experience of supporting Deaf or Hearing-Impaired students within an educational environment.

Predominantly based at Blossomfield College, there may be a requirement for the successful applicant to work at the other College campuses as required.

Successfully shortlisted candidates will have to complete a BSL skills test as part of the recruitment process.
