Job summary

Peabody is seeking a caring Care Support Worker (BSL) to support deaf individuals in their own homes and local communities in Basildon. This part-time, permanent role is 22.5 hours per week with a competitive salary and pro rata benefits.

You will help people live independently, build relationships and promote wellbeing, using BSL to communicate and supporting access to activities, appointments, and community involvement.

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driving licence is essential.
• BSL skills through training, qualifications, or lived experience.
• A caring, compassionate and person-centred approach.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility to work a rota that includes evenings, weekends and sleep-ins.

Responsibilities

• Support people with daily living, personal care and wellbeing.
• Use British Sign Language (BSL) to communicate effectively.
• Encourage independence, choice and confidence.
• Support people to access activities, appointments and community activities.
• Work closely with families, colleagues and other professionals.
