Job summary

DUAL, part of Howden, is hiring an Underwriting Technician to support brokers, underwriters and internal teams across Personal Lines products. The role emphasizes accurate policy administration, timely processing of new business and renewals, and adherence to underwriting guidelines.

Ideal candidates will have essential Motor Personal Lines experience, strong broker communication, and a detail-oriented, collaborative mindset to ensure compliant customer outcomes and efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Essential experience in Motor Personal Lines insurance and Agricultural Fleet.
• Underwriting support, broking, policy administration or a comparable regulated service environment.
• Good understanding of insurance terminology and the policy lifecycle.
• High attention to detail, with the ability to work accurately at pace.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including confident broker contact.
• Ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines and take ownership through to resolution.
• Collaborative approach and willingness to seek guidance when outside authority.

Responsibilities

• Policy administration and processing across Personal Lines products.
• Process new business, renewals, mid-term adjustments, endorsements, cancellations and policy documentation accurately.
• Check policy information and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy.
• Maintain clear records across insurance and workflow systems.
• Provide professional broker support by telephone, email and digital channels.
• Apply underwriting guidelines and delegated authority consistently.
