Overview
EFL Teachers are responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons following the ANGLO syllabus. ANGLO sessions promote the communicative approach with emphasis on speaking and listening skills. An overview of the role includes:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the needs of ANGLO teenage students
- Collaborate with colleagues to deliver the ANGLO experience
- Embrace the communicative approach and create an inclusive learning environment in language lessons, excursions, and projects
Role & Responsibilities
- Liaise with the Teaching Manager and/or WTS on relevant teaching and student matters
- Teach levels and course types as directed, plan classes, and mark student work
- Select appropriate supplementary materials considering students’ needs and cultural backgrounds
- Complete weekly schemes of work and attendance registers
- Follow guidelines outlined in the Teacher Manual
- Participate in teacher briefings, meetings, and CPD sessions
- Prepare students for presentations, excursions, and cultural visits
- Respond promptly to issues, incidents, or complaints, informing the TM as needed
- Maximize learning opportunities both inside and outside the classroom
- Create a positive, organized learning environment that introduces British culture
- Provide feedback and complete weekly academic reports accurately
- Follow ANGLO’s safeguarding and welfare policies
- Maintain professionalism at all times
Requirements
Essential (please do not apply if you do not meet these requirements):
- Right to work in the UK
- University degree + TEFLI qualification or equivalent experience (e.g., CELTA, Trinity CertTESOL, PGCE, 120-hour TEFL)
- Native or near-native English fluency
- Dynamic teaching approach
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, team-oriented attitude
- Commitment to high-quality customer service and a positive attitude
- Ability to work under pressure, strong work ethic, adaptable to change
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
Desirable:
- Experience teaching U18s
- Young Learners teaching qualification
- Summer school experience
- Experience with project-based or task-based learning
- Experience with Trinity GESE exams
Additional Information
ANGLO is committed to safeguarding and Prevent policies. All successful applicants will need to complete online certification and have enhanced DBS clearance prior to starting work.
Benefits include:
- 56 hours over a 14-night student programme, including 40 hours teaching, 8 hours workshops, 8 hours induction
- Remuneration: £897.46 per student programme including holiday pay
- Temporary, fixed-term contract
