Job summary

Chadwick Nott is recruiting a Construction Lawyer for a Bristol team. The role requires 2+ years’ PQE and covers both contentious and non-contentious construction work for a top 100 firm. You will draft, negotiate and advise on contracts while handling a varied caseload across multiple sectors.

You’ll work in a supportive, high-performing REM team in a hybrid model, spending 2+ days in the Bristol office and collaborating with partners, senior lawyers and juniors on complex, high-value projects.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ PQE (or equivalent) in construction law.
• Experience across contentious and non-contentious matters or willingness to develop in both.
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills.
• Collaborative mindset and enjoyment of teamwork.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive, positive and engaging approach.

Responsibilities

• Drafting, negotiating and advising on construction and engineering contracts (JCT, NEC, IChemE, IET, ACA).
• Handling a mix of contentious and non-contentious construction matters.
• Advising clients across sectors including waste, infrastructure, higher education, health, and commercial property development.
• Supporting clients from early planning to dispute resolution.
• Working with developers, funders, investors, contractors, and consultants.
• Managing a varied caseload with opportunities to handle high-value matters.
• Collaborating with colleagues to support commercial property transactions and major projects.
