Job summary

Babcock in Bristol is seeking a seasoned IT infrastructure leader to drive Oracle database and middleware services on site. The role involves managing a team, planning resources, and delivering high-performance platforms critical to national infrastructure.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Oracle WebLogic, SOA Suite, and identity management, plus Windows and Linux server expertise, and can secure SC level clearance. Bristol-based with 2–3 days on site weekly.

Qualifications

• Experience managing database and middleware environments in complex systems.
• Leadership experience managing technical teams.
• Familiar with Oracle technologies such as WebLogic, SOA Suite, Identity Management, and modern Oracle database platforms.
• Experience working with Windows and Linux server environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to optimise performance and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team to deliver Oracle database and middleware services.
• Develop project plans, allocate resources, ensure timely delivery.
• Drive automation, optimisation and best practices.
• Manage system performance, security and availability.
