Afin Bank Limited is recruiting a skilled Underwriter to assess regulated and unregulated UK bridging loans from application to completion. You will balance commercial judgement with robust credit assessment within the bank's policy and authority framework.

Working in a growing UK lender regulated by the FCA and PRA, you will manage a pipeline of bridging cases, apply MCOB and Consumer Duty where applicable, and collaborate with Brokers, Credit Risk, and Operations to ensure timely, compliant

Qualifications

• Proven, recent experience underwriting both regulated and unregulated UK bridging loans from application through to completion.
• Sound credit judgement within delegated authority or robust recommendations for approval.
• Practical knowledge of bridging regulatory classification, mortgage affordability and repayment requirements, Consumer Duty, financial crime controls, and FCA/PRA environment.
• Ability to assess borrower finances, structures, valuations, and loan-to-value.
• Clear credit writing and ability to explain decisions to brokers, valuers, solicitors and colleagues.

Responsabilités

• Own a pipeline of bridging applications, prioritising cases, resolving outstanding information and meeting service standards.
• Confirm each loan's regulatory classification and apply relevant requirements; refer uncertain cases to Compliance.
• Assess security, LTV, interest and fees; evaluate repayment exits and timing.
• Review valuations, property condition, marketability, and title issues; resolve problems before completion.
• Approve or decline cases within authority; escalate policy exceptions as needed.
• Work with brokers, Credit Risk and Operations to progress cases and ensure underwriting conditions are met.
