Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Bridge Engineer to shape high‑quality civil and structural designs for major UK and international projects. You will collaborate with national and international design teams, applying your bridge design expertise and analytics to evaluate options and deliver robust documentation, including sketches, 3D BIM models, calculations and reports.

Qualifications

• Civil/Structural Eng degree
• Near Chartered status with ICE/IStructE
• Experience with Transport Scotland, National Highways, Network Rail and local authorities
• Knowledge of Eurocodes, DMRB, MCHW and Network Rail standards
• Bridge design, maintenance and assessment experience
• Experience with LUSAS, MIDAS and Autodesk SBD
• Strong interpersonal skills across engineering teams

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality civil and structural designs for new constructions, renewals, maintenance and assessments
• Collaborate with national and international design teams to create sustainable impacts
• Use analytical skills to derive solutions and appraise options
• Produce design documentation: sketches, drawings, 3D BIM deliverables, analyses, calculations, reports and specs
• Provide guidance to junior staff
• Support on bids, tenders and winning work
• Communicate with colleagues across disciplines
