Job summary

Hull City Council is recruiting a trainee Bridge Technician to join the Bridge Engineering Team within the Major Projects and Infrastructure area. You will train under Bridge Engineers and consultants to gain experience in bridge maintenance, design and construction.

The role offers progression toward a full technician role, with opportunities to develop competencies to become a Bridge Engineer. Collaboration with stakeholders and adherence to safety and engineering standards are essential.

Qualifications

• Candidates should have an existing civil engineering background or be motivated to train.
• Experience with bridges/asset management is a plus but not required.
• Capability to work with engineers, consultants and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Assist Bridge Engineers on civil engineering projects.
• Develop experience in bridge maintenance, design and construction.
• Support inspections and assessments of bridges and highway structures.
• Contribute to project management of bridge schemes from inspection to site delivery.
• Maintain accurate logs and communication with consultants and contractors.
