Job summary

Forterra Plc in Accrington is seeking a Production Operative to join our brick production lines. You will operate plant and equipment safely, contribute to quality, and support efficient manufacturing to meet housing market demand.

Training will cover quarry, clay prep, manufacturing, sorting and packaging processes, with a 4-on 4-off 12-hour shift pattern for days and nights. You will work as part of a team, maintaining high health, safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Literacy and Numeracy to GCSE level (or equivalent).
• Previous experience in a team environment.
• Experience in a factory environment is advantageous.
• Good communication skills.
• Well organized with a clean, tidy and safe work environment.
• Willing to be trained to operate all on-site manufacturing machinery.

Responsibilities

• Operate plant and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Follow health & safety standards and report concerns.
• Maintain quality by following process controls and quality systems.
• Communicate issues to line manager and support problem solving.
• Prepare for varied workloads and work as part of a team.
• Support safeguarding of PPE, tools, and equipment.
