Job summary

Barnardo's is seeking a Family Support Practitioner / Children & Young People's Practitioner to work in North Shields. The role focuses on delivering bricklaying-related training for young people within Barnardo's ETSN, supporting 16-18 (up to 25 with EHCP) learners, and enabling progression to qualifications and employment.

The role emphasizes safeguarding, partnership work, and developing study programmes.

Qualifications

• Experience of direct work with children, young people and families.
• Understanding safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct support and interventions to children, young people and families.
• Build strong relationships with parents and carers.
• Work with partners to provide effective support.
• Manage and support complex cases within the service.
• Contribute to service development and improvement.
• Apply safeguarding policies at all times.
• Maintain accurate case notes and reports.
• Supervise staff, students or volunteers where required.
