Job summary

Sodexo is seeking an experienced Bricklaying Tutor at HMP & YOI Peterborough. You will deliver bricklaying training, support learners toward qualifications and help build confidence for release into employment.

We value practical trade knowledge, clear communication and commitment to rehabilitation. A teaching or assessor qualification is advantageous, but not essential; strong industry experience and a proactive, patient approach are key.

• Experience as a qualified bricklayer and strong practical skills.
• Ability to explain techniques clearly and build positive relationships with learners.
• Patience, enthusiasm and the confidence to motivate diverse learners.
• Flexible, proactive approach to supporting people with different needs.
• Commitment to education, rehabilitation and helping people progress.

Responsibilities

Salary: £32,987.47–£38,801.01 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

We’re looking for a motivated Bricklaying Tutor to join our Industries Department at HMP & YOI Peterborough.
You’ll help learners develop practical trade skills, work towards recognised qualifications and build their confidence as they prepare for employment on release.

You’ll be part of our Education, Skills & Work team, delivering practical, engaging training and supporting learners with a range of abilities and needs. Alongside teaching bricklaying, you’ll encourage safe working habits, teamwork and pride in a job well done.

A teaching or assessor qualification and previous prison experience would be an advantage, but neither is essential. We’re looking for strong trade knowledge, clear communication and a real commitment to helping people progress.
