Job summary

Diageo is hiring a Brewing Technician for our Newbridge, Co. Kildare site. You will safely operate end-to-end brewing processes, from raw material intake to tanker dispatch, ensuring product quality and production plan adherence.

You will work with digital manufacturing tools such as Brewmaxx, Orbis and Zaptic to record data, support continuous improvement and maintain equipment condition. This is a permanent contract with a competitive benefits package.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate brewing processes and equipment in accordance with SOPs, recipes and production plans.
  • Operate across raw material handling, brewhouse, fermentation, filtration and tanker filling.
  • Monitor process and quality parameters, respond to deviations and escalate issues.
  • Execute CIP, sanitation and 5S, maintaining equipment condition and performance.
  • Maintain accurate records using site systems such as Brewmaxx, Orbis, Harford and Zaptic.
  • Coordinate product transfers and tanker loading/dispatch to ensure smooth operations.

About the Role

As a Brewing Technician you will safely operate, monitor and maintain end‑to‑end brewing operations from raw material intake through brewing, fermentation, filtration and tanker dispatch, delivering beer safely, to specification and to production plan.


The role owns process execution, product quality, equipment basic condition and accurate operational data, using Zaptic for digital work management and ManEx for performance management and continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities


  • Safelyoperatebrewing processes and equipmentin accordance withSOPs, recipes, production plans and site Safety, Quality, Food Safety and Environmental standards.

  • Operate across raw material handling, brewhouse, fermentation/maturation, filtration, brightbeerand tanker filling withindemonstratedcompetence.

  • Monitor process and quality parameters, respond todeviationsand elevate abnormalities appropriately.

  • Execute CIP, sanitation, Autonomous Maintenance and 5S, taking ownership of equipment condition and performance.

  • Maintainaccurateprocess, quality and traceability records usingBrewmaxx, Orbis, Harford,Zapticand other site systems.

  • Coordinate operational activities, including product transfers and tanker loading/dispatch, tomaintainsafe and efficient product flow.

  • Participate in shift handovers, daily performancereviewsandManExroutines, ensuring clear communication and effective follow‑up.

  • Identifyandeliminatelosses through structured problem-solving and continuous improvement activities covering yield, quality, time, energy,materialsand equipment performance.

  • Support trials, process changes, new productintroductionsand improvement projects.

  • Develop cross-functional capability, shareknowledgeand work collaboratively with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Utilities and Logistics.


About you

We're looking for a motivated and proactive individual with experience in brewing, food & beverage, dairy, pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, chemical, utilities, or other automated process manufacturing environments. You'll be passionate about operational excellence, safety, and continuous improvement, with the drive to take ownership, solve problems, and contribute to a high-performing team. While experience is valuable, your ability to learn, adapt, and make a positive impact is what will set you apart.


What you'll bring:


  • Experience working within a manufacturing or process environment, ideally in brewing, food & beverage, dairy, pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, chemical, utilities, or other highly automated industries.

  • Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills, with the ability toidentifyroot causes and implement effective solutions.

  • A good understanding of process operations, equipment performance, and continuous improvement principles.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across production, engineering, and support functions.

  • A proactive approach to safety, quality, environmental compliance, and operational excellence.

  • Confidence using digital manufacturing and maintenance systems, with the ability to interpret data and use insights to improve performance.

  • A growth mindset with a passion for learning, developing new skills, and supporting the development of others.

  • The ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑performance environment while delivering agreedobjectivesand driving sustainable results.
