Job summary

NCT is seeking a part-time peer supporter in Lancashire to provide breastfeeding and infant feeding peer support in community settings and hospitals. You will work 17.5 hours weekly across Monday, Thursday and Friday, with inductions, supervision sessions and safeguarding duties as part of the role.

Experience with breastfeeding advocacy and working with diverse families is essential; driving licence and access to a car are required to reach multiple sites in East Lancashire and Preston.

Qualifications

• Trained NCT Breastfeeding Peer Supporter or equivalent with lived breastfeeding experience.
• Comfortable engaging families in diverse backgrounds.
• Good knowledge of local perinatal services in Lancashire.

Responsibilities

• Provide breastfeeding and infant feeding peer support in community settings and hospitals in East Lancashire.
• Deliver inductions and shadowing for volunteer peer supporters.
• Attend regular supervision sessions and safeguarding meetings.
• Collect attendee data and narrative case studies for reporting.
