Job summary

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Senior Clinical Fellow in Breast Surgery to work within the plastic and breast surgery teams. The role emphasizes microsurgical breast reconstruction and MDT participation, with substantial responsibility for patient care under senior consultants.

The post runs for six months with a full-time 40-hour week, and it requires full GMC registration and substantial experience in plastic surgery training.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree mandatory.
• FRCS (Plast) or equivalent required.
• Full GMC registration with licence to practice.

Responsibilities

• Support the breast reconstruction service at St Andrew's Centre & satellite hospitals.
• Perform microsurgical breast reconstruction as required.
• Participate in breast reconstruction MDT and Risk Reducing Mastectomy MDT.
• Undertake independently skin cancer surgery, breast symmetrisation procedures and general plastic surgery work.
• Attend out-patient departments and operating theatres as required by consultants.
• Join on-call rota covering Plastic, Hand and Burn emergencies as per unit norms.
