Job summary

New Victoria Hospital, part of Bupa, is seeking a Mammographer to join the Imaging Department on a bank/part-time basis at Kingston upon Thames. You will perform screening and diagnostic mammography, including stereotactic and vacuum-assisted biopsies, while ensuring patient comfort and safety.

You will work closely with radiologists and radiographers, adhere to infection control and radiation safety, and participate in quality assurance.

Qualifications

• Post graduate certificate in mammography/breast imaging required.
• 3+ years post-qualification experience including stereotactic & vacuum-assisted biopsies and tomography.
• BSc in Radiography or equivalent.
• HCPC registered breast screening X-ray.

Responsibilities

• Carry out screening and diagnostic mammography procedures; stereotactic and vacuum-assisted biopsies.
• Prepare, position, and reassure patients during examinations.
• Produce high-quality diagnostic images while minimising radiation exposure.
• Work closely with radiologists, radiographers, clinicians and the breast care team.
• Follow infection control, radiation safety, safeguarding, and health and safety procedures.
• Participate in departmental quality assurance.
• Support anxious or distressed patients with clear information about the procedure.
• Work flexible hours to accommodate imaging department opening times.
• Be prepared to work in the General X-ray area of the Imaging Department.
• Oversee a comprehensive and high-quality service by monitoring standards.

Education

Post Graduate Certificate in Mammography/Breast Imaging

3 years post qualification experience (incl. Stereotactic & Vacuum Assisted Biopsies; Tomography)

BSc in Radiography or equivalent
