Job summary

New Victoria Hospital is seeking a Mammographer to provide high-quality breast imaging as part of the Imaging Department. You will deliver screening and diagnostic mammography, position patients, and produce clear images for reporting while minimising radiation exposure.

The role requires 3 years post-qualification experience (including biopsies), a Post Graduate Certificate in Mammography, and HCPC registration. You will join a supportive team in a hospital network under Bupa.

Qualifications

  • Post Graduate Certificate in Mammography/Breast Imaging is essential.
  • 3 years post-qualification experience including Stereotactic & Vacuum Assisted Biopsies.
  • BSc in Radiography or equivalent and HCPC Registered.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out screening and diagnostic mammography procedures, including stereotactic & vacuum-assisted biopsies.
  • Prepare, position, and reassure patients during examinations.
  • Produce high-quality diagnostic images while minimising radiation exposure.
  • Work with radiologists, radiographers, clinicians and breast care team.
  • Follow infection control, radiation safety and health and safety procedures.

Our imaging department provides a comprehensive range of services including X-Ray, Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound, Mammography (predominately a symptomatic service), CT, MRI, and Mobile Imaging, ensuring patients receive timely, high-quality care in a safe and supportive environment.As part of our multidisciplinary team, you'll play a vital role in delivering accurate diagnostic imaging while maintaining the highest standards of patient care, safety, and professionalism.**You’ll help us make health happen by**You'll be responsible for delivering performing high quality breast imaging as required by referring physicians according to departmental policies and procedures. accurately analyse the acquired data, record results and produce high quality images for reporting. Whilst doing so, you'll ensure that all patients being imaged receive a high standard of care. You'll show flexibility of shared tasks to ensure that we provide the best quality service and establishing good working relationships.**Other duties include:*** Carrying out screening and diagnostic mammography procedures; stereotactic and vacuum assisted biopsies in line with clinical protocols.* Preparing, positioning, and reassuring patients throughout examinations.* Producing high-quality diagnostic images while minimising radiation exposure.* Working closely with radiologists, radiographers, clinicians, and the wider breast care team.* Following infection control, radiation safety, safeguarding, and health and safety procedures.* To partake in departmental quality assurance.* Supporting patients who may be anxious or distressed and providing clear information about the procedure.* To work flexible hours to accommodate the opening hours of the Imaging Department.* To be prepared to work in the General X-ray area of the Imaging Department.* To oversee a comprehensive and high-quality service by monitoring standards.**Qualifications/ Experience (essential)*** Post Graduate Certificate in Mammography/Breast Imaging* 3 years post qualification experience (inclusive of Stereotactic & Vacuum Assisted Biopsies; Tomography )* BSc in Radiography or equivalent* HCPC Registered* Breast Screening* Xray**Benefits**At New Victoria Hospital, we want to reward our staff for the amazing job that they do.
