Job summary

Barking, Havering & Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a permanent medical oncology consultant to join a well-established team at Queen’s Hospital, Romford. The role covers breast malignancy and another tumour subsite of choice, with strong emphasis on clinical trials, education, and digital improvements.

You will work with 13 consultants, three specialty doctors and five SpRs to serve a population of 750,000, contributing to acute oncology, clinic reviews, and multidisciplinary

Qualifications

• Full and Specialist registration and a license to practice
• Holder of CCT/CCST or CCT date within six months of interview
• MD, PhD or equivalent and leadership qualities in oncology
• Experience in teaching and training of junior medical staff
• Involvement in clinical trials and audit processes

Responsibilities

• Provide full range of oncology diagnostic, treatment and care
• Manage breast malignancy and ~170–200 new patients per year
• Support Acute Oncology Service and ward rounds with specialist team
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary site-specific teams
• Deliver outpatient chemotherapy and inpatient oncologic opinions
• Participate in out-of-hours on-call service
