Job summary

Neath Port Talbot Council is seeking an enthusiastic Breakfast Club Assistant to support the catering team in primary schools. The role covers preparation and serving of healthy breakfasts, supervision of pupils, and adherence to food safety standards.

Working across multiple schools during term time, you will contribute to a safe, healthy start to the school day. The post is subject to Enhanced DBS clearance.

Qualifications

• DBS (Enhanced Disclosure) required.
• Term-time contract hours 3.75 per week.
• Supervision of pupils and kitchen duties in school catering.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the Breakfast Club cook's duties and breakfast preparation.
• Set up for service and supervise pupils during breakfast.
• Support general kitchen tasks and ensure health and safety standards.

As part of the Welsh Assembly Government’s commitment to providing free, healthy breakfasts to children of primary school age we are looking for enthusiastic individuals to assist in the preparation and serving of healthy breakfasts and the supervision of pupils at various schools throughout the County Borough.

Duties and expectations:

• Work as part of the catering team within the school.
• To assist the Breakfast Club cook in the preparation of breakfast, setting up for service, supervision of pupils and general kitchen duties to the agreed standards
• Able to work in accordance with agreed schedules, comply with Food and Health and Safety Regulations and work to a high standard.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure (Child’s) from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
