Job summary

Junior Adventures Group – William de Yaxley CofE Academy, Peterborough, PE7 3JL, is seeking a Playworker/Activity Leader to run the Breakfast and After School Clubs. The role is split-shift, 22.5 hours per week during term time, Monday to Friday, 7:30am-9:00am and 3:00pm-6:00pm.

Pay up to £12.71 per hour, with DBS and safeguarding checks required. Join a lively, supportive team delivering lots of activities for children aged 4–11, ensuring safety and inclusivity while fostering fun and learning.

Qualifications

• Experience in childcare, education, coaching, playwork or youth work would be an advantage, but isn't essential.
• We’re looking for people with the right attitude, enthusiasm and commitment to children.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exciting activities including multi-sports, arts & crafts, games and creative play
• Supervise children and encourage participation, confidence and positive behaviour
• Create a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment
• Set up and pack away activities, equipment and play spaces
• Prepare and serve refreshments where required
• Support accurate sign-in and sign-out procedures
• Follow safeguarding, health & safety and company procedures
• Work as part of a fantastic team to make every session enjoyable

We’re looking for a caring, reliable and enthusiastic Playworker / Activity Leader to join our team at William de Yaxley CofE Academy.

At Junior Adventures Group (JAG), we’re all about creating fun! From sports and games to arts & crafts and creative play, you’ll help make our Breakfast and After School Clubs a place where children aged 4-11 can have fun, feel safe and thrive.

This is a split-shift role, giving you free time between sessions — ideal for fitting work around family life, studying or other commitments.

What You’ll Be Doing

Every session is about creating a safe, fun and engaging experience for children.

• Deliver exciting activities including multi-sports, arts & crafts, games and creative play
