Job summary

Mint People is seeking a capable Line Chef in Newton-le-Willows to join a tight-knit kitchen team. You’ll run a section, help with preparation and support service during busy times, ensuring high hygiene and consistent mise en place.

The role offers 40 hours per week, 10am finish, and pay in the range of £13–£15 per hour plus Tronc, with on-site parking and Nest pension scheme. Previous branded kitchen experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Line Chef or similar in a structured or branded kitchen.
• Confident with food prep, following specs, and kitchen service routines
• Calm, reliable and focused - especially under pressure
• A team player with a positive attitude and willingness to support colleagues
• Good hygiene practices and an organised work style
• Someone who takes pride in doing the basics right and supporting the wider team effort

Responsibilities

• Run a section and assist with preparation during service.
• Support service during busy periods and maintain high hygiene standards.
• Manage mise en place and contribute to a smooth service each day.
• Report to the senior kitchen team and stay calm under pressure.
• Help maintain flow of the kitchen on quieter and busier days.
