Job summary

Duncan & Todd Group is recruiting for a Branch Manager in Elgin to lead a busy optical practice. The role focuses on delivering excellent patient care, with an emphasis on staff leadership, stock control, and clinical standards under the guidance of the head office.

The position is full-time, 37.5 hours per week over five days from Monday to Saturday, with additional duties to support a high-performing team and ensure patient satisfaction in a busy retail optical setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in optical environment is essential.
• Qualification to FBDO level preferred but not essential.
• Full-time role with 37.5 hours per week over 5 days (Mon–Sat).

Responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for day-to-day running of the practice, including staff, stock and premises.
• Assist patients with queries on spectacles and contact lenses and build customer relationships.
• Motivate and lead the team to deliver excellent patient care.
• Train and coach the Practice Team and support succession planning.
• Advise patients on spectacle lens and frame options after eye tests.
• Collaborate with Head Office to uphold professional standards.
• Be a visible point of contact for patients in the practice.
• Maintain the appointment diary and NHS paperwork.

We are currently recruiting for a Branch Manager to join our Elgin branch. The role on offer focuses on providing excellent patient care and Qualification to FBDO level is preferred but not essential. Previous experience working in an optical environment is essential.

The role is full time working 37.5 hours a week over 5 days from Monday to Saturday.

The typical Branch Manager duties are:

• Taking full responsibility for the success and day to day running of the practice including management of staff, stock and the premises.
• Assisting patients with queries relating to every aspect of wearing spectacles and contact lenses. Resolving queries with a desire to build and maintain good customer relationships.
• Motivating, driving and leading the team to deliver excellent patient care.
• Training, coaching and appraising the Practice Team, disseminating knowledge and ensuring a solid succession plan is in place and that internal promotion is actively encouraged.
• Making recommendations to and advising patients on spectacle lens and spectacle frame options following their eye test with the resident Optometrist.
• Working in cooperation with Head Office Departments to ensure that professional & clinical standards are maintained at all times.
• Being a point of contact for patients in the practice, leading by example at all times.
• Managing the practice appointment diary giving consideration to patient appointment requests and staff availability.
• Administration and maintenance of patient records, databases and NHS paperwork.
• Other ad-hoc duties as and when required
