Are you an experienced Branch/Store/Unit Manager looking to develop your career further? Are you ready to take your next career step? We are Travis Perkins, the UK’s largest builders merchant, and we have an exciting opportunity for someone to take the reins of our branch in Tavistock, PL19 9QN.

Where will you be working?

The role of Branch Manager is one of the most challenging yet rewarding positions in our business. The Tavistock branch, located on Plymouth Road Industrial Estate, is one of our successful branches in the South West and Wales region. It has a well-established team of over 8 colleagues, operates 2 vehicles, and enjoys strong customer footfall. The workplace is busy and vibrant.

Working hours are Mon-Fri 7.30am - 5.00pm, Saturdays 8.00am - 12.00pm, with only 2 in 4 Saturdays worked. The Branch Manager will work a 40-hour week with additional hours as required, including every other Saturday morning.

What will you be doing?

  • Developing strong relationships with customers and suppliers to build profitable growth and working closely with the Area Sales Rep to add value.
  • Managing the full operation of the branch, ensuring safety, storage efficiency, housekeeping, and product accessibility standards are met.
  • Controlling sales, margin, and overheads to exceed your AOP and deliver excellent financial performance.
  • Promoting a safety culture and colleague wellbeing across the branch.
  • Leading, motivating, engaging, and delegating to empower your team to deliver excellent customer service.
