Job summary

Jewson, part of Stark UK, is recruiting for a Branch Manager to join our North Shields branch. This full‑time role runs Monday to Friday 7:30–17:00 with every other Saturday 08:00–12:00, and focuses on leading a sales‑driven team while delivering outstanding customer service in the building materials sector.

You will build strong customer relationships, identify sales opportunities, and develop the local market, ensuring safe, efficient branch operation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in the building materials industry is preferred.
• Proven experience of leading, motivating and developing a team.
• Strong sales and commercial focus with the ability to identify and maximise opportunities to grow the business.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with a genuine focus on delivering great customer service.
• Good knowledge of the local market and customer needs within the building materials sector.
• A proactive, hands-on approach and ability to lead by example.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and support the branch team to deliver strong sales and customer service performance.
• Build strong relationships with new and existing customers, understanding their needs and providing proactive advice and solutions.
• Identify opportunities to grow sales by developing understanding of the local market and customer base.
• Work closely with the wider network and suppliers to meet customer requirements and support business activity.
• Maintain high standards of stock management, including regular stock checks and accurate stock levels.
• Lead by example on Health & Safety and ensure safe working practices.
• Continuously look for ways to improve branch performance, customer experience and ways of working.

We are recruiting for a Branch Manager to join our thriving Jewson branch in North Shields (NE29 7XJ).

This is a full-time role working Monday-Friday7:30 -17:00, and every other Saturdayfrom08:00-12:00.

We are looking for an experienced Branch Manager with a strong sales focus to lead our team, grow sales and deliver an excellent customer experience.
