Job title: Press Brake Operator
Job location: Tamworth
Shifts: Days - Monday to Thursday
Contract Length: Initial 6 months with scope to go permanent
Hours per week: 38
Overtime: 1.3 x Mon - Fri, 1.5 x Sat, 2.0 x Sun
Start date: ASAP

Client Summary:
Our client is a growing manufacturing company based in the heart of Tamworth, with around 120 manufacturing staff, building varying products that are supplied into the transport industry. With a friendly and relaxed work environment this client has a brimming order book, so stability of work is assured.

Position Summary:
Operator's required for manufacturing work an ongoing project within the transport engineering sector. Main duties of work will be to bend sheet metal and polycarbonate components in line with drawings from engineers.

Predominantly supporting the production of interior products for the transport sector including grab rails, doors, windows, floors and all other manner of interior products.

As an Operator you will have multitude of duties and responsibilities, such as:
Work with the QHSE and management team to develop a culture that prioritises QHSE and customer focus as a key point of daily activities.
Setting up and correctly operate a CNC brake press machine, in order to bend sheet metal to required specifications.
Read work instructions and technical drawings to determine the correct specifications and operation sequence.
In charge of booking the correct materials using D365
Use the correct tooling and make adjustments to machine settings depending on the thickness, material type and bend angle.
Ensure finished parts meet quality standards and tolerance via inspection.
Routine maintenance and cleaning of brake press machine.
Record and maintain accurate documentation of production data.
Working within a team to improve processes and ensure production deadlines are met.
Adhere to all company healthy and safety policies and processes.
Ensure 5S audits and improvement activities are carried out as instructed by the Production Manager.

Personal Profile:
Proven experience using a CNC brake press is essential, as well as:
Solid understanding of fabrication techniques for sheet metal.
Be able to read and understand engineers' drawings.
Experience using measurement tool such as callipers, gauges and protractors
Good mechanical knowledge
Excellent attention to detail in order to produce high quality work.
Be able to work independently and as a team
Good communication skills
A punctual person with good time keeping.
An enthusiastic and hardworking individual, committed to delivering excellent results
