Libertatem Healthcare is seeking to recruit a support worker experienced in working with brain injury. Our client is in his 20s, lives independently, and sustained a frontal lobe brain injury due to a road traffic accident. He is mobile and enjoys an active lifestyle.

Due to the client's needs, a driving license is required, as the client owns a vehicle, and staff are expected to drive.

Hours: 1:1 – 24/7 (Bank)

Main Tasks and Duties

• Supporting independence and ongoing rehabilitation
• Providing personalized support in a sensitive and confidential manner, following support plans
• Understanding and following care plans, seeking clarification as needed
• Participating in monitoring and reviewing care plans
• Working professionally with multidisciplinary teams and health professionals
• Promoting self-care and self-management to maximize independence, including assistance with domestic tasks, food preparation, shopping, and appointments
• Providing emotional support to boost confidence and motivation
• Assisting with moving and handling equipment to promote safety and independence
• Monitoring skin integrity and noting changes
• Administering medication as per care plans and policies
• Supporting rehabilitation activities as directed
• Monitoring health and responding to changes indicative of issues like Autonomic Dysreflexia or infections
• Delivering support respecting cultural, disability, race, age, sexuality, marital status, transgender status, or religious beliefs
• Documenting progress and changes in the service user's condition

Training & Background Checks: An enhanced DBS check and full training will be provided, supported by our clinical lead nurse.
