Job summary

Somerset NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a compassionate Specialist Screening Practitioner (SSP) to join the Bowel Cancer Screening Team. The SSP acts as the patient advocate through the bowel screening pathway, delivers pre- assessment clinics, and supports patients undergoing endoscopic or radiological procedures at Musgrove Park Hospital and Yeovil District Hospital.

The role requires flexible hours on a rota, travel between sites, and completion of the mandatory induction and SSP

Qualifications

• Qualified nurse with UK registration.
• Willingness to travel between Musgrove Park and Yeovil District Hospital.
• Flexibility to work a rotating rota.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-assessment clinics and care for patients undergoing procedures.
• Support patients through bowel screening pathways and discuss results.
• Attend endoscopic/radiological procedures and maintain records.
