Job description

Altea is Canada's premier fitness and wellness destination. Multiple boutique studios, modern recovery, and lifestyle amenities, all under one roof, for one membership. We bring together the quality of a standalone boutique with the breadth of a full service club, and we deliver an experience that members build their week around. We are the membership members actually use. Everything we do is designed to deliver a premium member experience.

Members plan their week around the boutique fitness experience at Altea. The formats, the instructors, the energy in the studio. These aren't background features. They're a core part of why people join, why they stay, and why they bring people they care about.

The Boutique Fitness Manager is the leader responsible for that experience. The role encompasses leading Boutique Fitness Instructors, few hundred classes weekly across multiple studios, and the quality of every one of them is a reflection of your leadership. Altea gives you the infrastructure, the member community, and the support to deliver an exceptional boutique fitness experience at a level most fitness environments can't offer. This is a leadership role for someone who has built strong programs before, developed excellent instructors, and is ready for a club that matches their ambition.

What You'll Lead:
  • Your Instructor Team. You recruit, develop, schedule, and hold accountable a team of boutique fitness instructors and the Boutique Fitness Lead. The experience your team delivers on the floor is a direct reflection of your leadership.
  • The Programming. You own the class schedule, format mix, and programming quality across the boutique fitness experience. You know what your members want, you know what the market is doing, and you build a schedule that drives attendance and retention.
  • The Standard. Class quality, instructor preparation, studio presentation, and the member experience in every session. You audit regularly, coach consistently, and address gaps before they become patterns.
  • The Numbers. Class utilization, attendance trends, member retention in the program, and instructor performance metrics are yours to watch and act on.
  • The Community. The boutique fitness studio has an energy, and you set it. Members who feel connected to the experience stay longer, refer more, and invest more. That connection starts with the culture you build.
Who You Are:

You're here to build a boutique fitness experience that members and instructors are genuinely proud to be part of. You lead from the floor. You know your instructors, their strengths, and their growth edges. You care about class utilization and member retention because you're proud of the experience this program should deliver.

  • You develop people because it's who you are, not because it's on a checklist. You identify talent early, invest in it intentionally, and build an instructor team that gets better because of how you lead them. Your leadership shows up in their growth, not in how much credit you take for it.
  • You're a programming thinker with strong instincts for people. You understand how a class schedule drives member behaviour. You read attendance data, you know what's working and what isn't, and you make changes with intention rather than reaction. You're just as thoughtful about how you coach an instructor through a rough week as you are about adjusting a format mix.
  • You execute within a proven system. You're here to lead it better than it's ever been led at this club, and in doing so, help define what the boutique fitness experience at Altea becomes.
What We're Looking For:
  • 3–5 years of experience in a boutique fitness, group fitness, or fitness programming role. management or senior leadership experience in a premium environment strongly preferred
  • Current certification in one or more boutique fitness formats. Cycling, Yoga, Pilates, Reformer Pilates, Tread, Barre, HIIT, or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience building, managing, and developing a team of group fitness instructors.
  • Strong programming instincts. you understand how format mix, scheduling, and instructor quality drive attendance and retention.
  • Financial literacy. you read utilization and attendance data, understand their implications, and act on what the numbers tell you
  • Valid Standard First Aid and CPR-C, maintained annually
  • Criminal Background Check required prior to commencement
What You'll Earn

This is a leadership role compensated at a level that reflects the standard we hold and the calibre of person we're looking for. All rates of pay are confidential.

  • performance bonus
  • Employee Stock Option Plan
  • complimentary Altea membership and a Plus One
  • group benefits
  • an extensive vacation package plus paid Flex days
  • a 4-day work week program (12 days annually)
  • cellphone allowance
Success Looks Like:

Your instructor team is stronger than when you arrived. At least one person has grown into a more capable version of themselves under your leadership. Class attendance and utilisation are at or above benchmark. Members know the names of your instructors and feel connected to the experience. The schedule is intentional, the quality is consistent, and the studio delivers an exceptional member experience whether you are in the building or not.
